Nan on The Bubble in Majorca

We came back to Belgium from summer vacation in August, 2016. We still had a couple weeks before school started again. After we did some research (or mom did anyway since she always asks Nan and me to find a place for us to go but we never do and then she has to figure it all out and she gets a little mad about it but she always find us the greatest places to go so it all ends up really good in the end, well for Nan and me anyway) we decided to go to Majorca.

Majorca is an island in Spain. It was pretty warm when we got there and the hot tub on top kept it that way. Can you believe we had our own private hot tub on the roof?  See, I told you mom finds the most awesome places!!!

Nan might not look like she's having a good time in the hot tub, but she is.  She just is too short to sit on the seat, so she's trying to hold herself up so Mom can take the picture before she sinks under the water.

I made a good friend while I was there. Unfortunately it was only a few days before we had to leave but we still had fun.  He was from the UK and he had a little sister who was there with him.  He was about the same age as me and we liked similar things.

On the other days, we mostly swam in the pool and drank banana mudslides. It's not vacation without those!  The bartenders were a little cranky about making them for me, it wasn't like the Dominican Republic where they make them for me all the time.  They didnt want to put the banana in so I had to bring the banana with me and then sometimes I had to even bring the banana and Mom with me too and then they would make it for me.

They had a kids club and one day they had an activity where you could make your own pizza.  I made a chocolate banana one and here you can see that mine came out delicious!!  Everyone else's was pretty much the same old boring stuff, cheese, tomato sauce and maybe one other topic, boring.

Mom says at work all the time that she "doesn't do boring", that means she doesn't want to just do what the normal thing is she wants everyone in her group to alway do MORE than that.  Well, I don't do boring either, even if it drives mom crazy sometimes.  I have to remember to remind her that it's her fault because I must have gotten this from her.  Unless she got it from me, but I doubt that because she was here way before me and Pops says she used to drive him crazy too so she must have been like this for a long, long time.

There were a lot of pools there too. All the buildings that rooms were in were lined up bordering the pools. Outside of each one, was a small pool that stretched the length of the building.   The pools had all kinds of water hoses and fountains that sprayed into them.  And we were allowed to use rafts and play with balls, so that was cool too.

They had a little playhouse that I liked to climb around on the outside. My mom was scared I was going to fall because, of course, you weren't supposed to climb on the outside, you were supposed to climb on the inside of it.  They also had a big theatre where they had shows outside every night and some of them were really good and had music that we liked.

By the front of the building was the restaurants. They had a Mediterranean one, an Italian one, and a big buffet. My favorite food was the pancakes at breakfast.  We're pretty boring when it comes to eating on vacation because we just have about the same things most days.  The last night that my friend was there, we ate dinner at the Italian restaurant with his family and that was fun.  It was late though and all the kid were ready to fall asleep in our plates, but we made it to desert!

Probably the most fun part of our trip was when nan tried to go up the bubble. The bubble is an inflatable semi-circle (with water shooting onto it from all angles to keep it slippery) that is connected to the bottom of the pool. On the sides, there is 4 paths up with foot holes and hand holds. When you climb to the top, you can either slide down it, try to stay on the longest, or my favorite, try to knock people off. Somehow we got nan to do it.

First, she tried to climb up the side herself and slide down.  I tried to stand next to her and tell her where to put her hands and feet, but she only made it a little ways and then she slid back down.  It didn't help that we couldn't stop laughing.

We decided to help her by standing at the top and pulling her up. But that only hurt her arms so we let go and let her plummet into the pool. Next we tried to push her up from the bottom. Slipping, she fell and knocked us all down like a bowling ball knocking over the pins. After that, a strong man helped us but two older boys slid down and knocked nan off! Finally, mom remembered the water shoes and said we should try them. I went at the top, while mom went at the bottom and we managed to get her up! Mom got out to record her coming down and here it is below:

Nan is such a good sport, who else's grandmother would do this at 78 years old??  There weren't even any mom's up there doing this, except for mine, of course.  The rest were at the pool bar drinking.

We had a great time, we didn't even know about Majorca, but it turned out to be a great place to go and the weather was awesome!!  Mom says she's not planning the next trip, that she'll pay for it, even book it, but that Nan and I have to help her out by deciding where we want to go...I'm going to try, but something tells me that isn't going to happen.

We'll see...
